aDermatoloji ABD, Kocaeli Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, KOCAELİ Anticonvulsant hypersensitivity syndrome which is characterized by fever, cutaneous findings and internal organ manifestation is a rarely seen drug reaction. Although it mostly occurs due to use of aromatic anticonvulsants, reactions to lamotrigine which is a new generation anticonvulsant drug have also been reported. Treatment with systemic steroids is controversial in this possibly mortal drug reaction while successful results with intravenous immunoglobulin treatment have been reported in the last years. In this article, a 35-year-old woman with lamotrigine induced severe anticonvulsant hypersensitivity syndrome; successfully treated with intravenous immunoglobulin; has been reported. Keywords: Lamotrigine; immunoglobulins, intravenous; drug hypersynsitivityTurkiye Klinikleri J Dermatol 2008, 18:59-62
