aDermatoloji Kliniği, bPatoloji Kliniği, Haydarpaşa Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, İSTANBUL Eccrine angiomatous hamartoma is a rare benign condition characterized histologically by increased numbers of eccrine glands and numerous capillary vessels. In literature less than 50 cases have been reported. Lesions usually appear on the extremities, as a solitary blue-brown or skin coloured nodular lesion or plaque which sometimes pain and hyperhidrosis accompany. The lesion appears at birth or prepubertal age. Here, a 9-year-old girl with local discoloration, pain and hyper-hidrosis on a plaque formation in the right palm, present for 7.5 years, is reported. Dermatological examination revealed a circular, pale-pink-coloured, and firm 4 cm plaque with dark red-brown spots on its surface, on the thenar region of the right palm. No other pathology was detected on physical examination. Routine laboratory tests were normal. Histological examination showed epidermal compact hyperkeratosis, irregular acanthosis, and proliferation of eccrine glands and surrounding capillary vessels in reticular dermis. Based on clinical and histological findings the patient was diagnosed as eccrine angiomatous hamartoma. Keywords: Hamartoma, eccrine glandsTurkiye Klinikleri J Dermatol 2008, 18:40-43
