Different modalities have been advocated for the
treatment of basal cell carcinomas (BCC). Microscopically
controlled excision (Mohs' surgery) principally involves
excision of the tumor In a thin horizontal layered fashion
and histological examination of the entire excision margin.
The major advantages of this technique are that the
residual tumor and the recurrence risk is very low, and
tumor free minimum defect is achieved. It is paticularly
recommended for BCCs of high risk for recurrence. Here,
we present our BCC cases treated with microscopically
controlled excision and discuss the procedure, the advantages
