The Relationship Between Acquired Nevİ And Phenotype
Doç. Dr .Oya OĞUZ, Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul H. AYDEMİR, Uz. Dr. Vahe KÖSEM, Prof. Dr .Agot KOTOĞYAN Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi Dermatoloji ABD, İSTANBUL The predisposing conditions and related factors
which may influence the development of acquired melanoyctic
new (MN) were Investigated in 220 subjects with
multiple acquired MN by multivariate analysis. The parameters
that may be related to the development of MN
were compared in respect with 2 phenotypic characters
consisting of light complexion and less ability to tan
(group 1) and dark complexion with better ability to tan
(group 2). Among the sites that represented the expected
high MN counts, upper back (MNB) showed the highest
MN counts in 2 groups but it was found that MNB was not
a specific parameter to indicate the relationship of MN
development and phenotype (cc- 0.0, 0.00). However
high nevus counts at the upper chest (MNC) was a specific
parameter which indicated the relationship between
MN counts and phenotype (cc- 0.41), and from this aspect
subjects in group 2 were more susceptible for high
MN counts than group 1 (cc- 0.22 and 0.04, respectively).
Other specific factors which co-existed with the high
MN counts were presence of at least 10 lentigo simplex
at the upper thigh, high ephelid counts, and sunburns
before age 10. It is suggested that each of these factors
which also well-correlates with dark complexion, and their
co-existance with light complexion may define the risk
group for the development of multiple acquired MN and
malignant melanoma. Keywords: Acquired melanocyte nevi, Phenotype,
