proven mycosis fungoides who had been followed in Hacettepe
University Department of Medical Oncology between
1974 and 1992 were retrospectively analyzed for
treatment results and outcome. The treatment modalities
were chemotherapy (either single agent or combined)
and phototherapy (PUVA). The remission rates attained
with these modalities were not statistically different
(p>0.05). Although the complete remission rate was low,
patients achieving partial remission or stable disease had
acceptable survival figures. The overall survival rate was
68.7% in 80 months indicating the indolent course of the
disease. Preferring single-agent chemotherapies and/or
phototherapy seems reasonable, unless Intensive chemotherapy
regimens having profound side effects prove
to prolong the disease-free and overall survival rates. Keywords: Mycosis Fungoides, Chemotherapy, PhototherapyT Klin Dermatoloji 1994, 4:1-4
