Sifiliz Immünolojisi

cell activation and T cell with immunoregulatory functions.
In syphilis the appearance of heterologous antibodies
is diagnostic of the disease and indicate polyclonal
activation of B lymphocytes. Primer infection is associated
with IgM and lgG% treponemal antibody responses.
Secondary syphilis is characterized by disproportionate
increase in IgGs spesific antitreponemal antibodies.
It is known that autoimmune phenomena is associated
with syphilitic infection. It is not restricted solely to
anticardiolipin responses. Antibodies to fibronectin, to
laminin and collagen, and to muscle creatine kinase
have been suggested that dynamic immunopathologic
processes may be triggered by Treponema pallidum in
susceptible hosts. This autoantibodies appear to contribute
to both the formation of immuncomplexes and lesion
histopathology.
At the same time in syphilis, various cell-mediated
immune functions seem tobe reduced. Characteristic
changes were observed in the subpopulations of 7 lymphocytes.
In primary syphilis the concentration of helper
cells is low whereas in secondary syphilis the suppressor
cell concentration has been found to be reduced. Keywords: Syphilis, ImmunityT Klin Dermatoloji 1992, 2:34-38
