Vitiligoda Puva Tedavisi

A.Ü. İbn-i Sina Hastanesi Cildiye AD, ANKARA Tins study was performed on forty vitiligo patient
who were admitted to Ankara University Faculty
of Medicine Dermatology department between
September 1986 and Nowember 1988. Tliere
were 27 female and 13 male patients and their ages
were between 14-60 years. Tlieir disease duration were
1-27years. Vitiligo diagnosis was established according
to clinical findings. 33 generalized, 5 localize
and 2 segmental vitiligo patients were included
in lihis study. Tlie contrcndicalions of PUVA
treatment were taken account in selection of
patients. Complate blood count, sedimentation,
complete urine analysis, liver and kidney function
tests, total lipid, cholesterole, trigliseride, total protein,
albumine a nd fast blood glucose levels were
assayed before and every six months during the treatment.
8-MOP was adminislerad 0,6 mg/kg orally and
after two hours the patients were taken in UVA treatment.
Tlie treatment was continued 2 or 3 days
weekly. UVA was administered initially 0,5 JI cm'
then gradually increased and maximum dosage was
8,5 Jlcm". After the treatment commenced repigmenlalion
was achieved as perifollicular macules in 1-
3,5 months (8-30 PUVA). Complete remission
was obse/red after 12-24 months. Especially the
lessions on trunk, face, legs and amis gave response
to treat ment. Tliere were acute side effects in some
patients but these were not a handicap for ceasing
