Akne Vulgaris Tedavisinde Topikal Benzoyl Peroxide Ile Clindamycin Phosphate'ın Karşılaştırılması

In this studv we compared the effects of topically
administered 5%. henzovl peroxide (BP) with 1%
clindamycin phosphate (CP) on acne vulgaris in a
group of 100 patients. The subjects were randomly
assigned to one of iwo alternative treatment. At the
end of die 12 week treatment period statistically relevant
decreases in the number of noninflammatory
(comedones), inflammatory (papules-pustules) and
all lesions were observed with both drugs as compared
to theprc-treulment findings (p < 0.05 for all comparisons').
The number of cystic acne lesions showed
an important decrease with BP (p < 005) but was not
affected by CP. The differences between the effects of
these drugs on all types of acne lesions were not significant.
On the oilier hand, local reactions to BP were
obsenvd in 40';7f: of the patients mainly in the form of
irritation whereas CP caused dmtess in only 22% of
